Marty Omoto's Californa Disabilities Community Action Network
Mar 26, 2011 --- Marty Omoto, Executive Director of the California Disability Community Action Network (CD-CAN) spoke to the Lanterman families at the Parents Coordinating Council on March 19, 2011. His tremendous knowledge of the California disability system, the California budget situation, and his belief in the power of individuals with disabilities and their families and friends to make a difference through their advocacy made this a most valuable and important presentation.
Marty has promised to work with the Parents Coordinating Council on some town hall telemeetings that will bring together families, legislators, and administration officials to discuss issues important to the Lanterman residents. We will share information on these teleconference-type meetings as soon as this is arranged and available.
Lanterman families can join other Developmental Center families, individuals with disabilities, advocates, providers, Regional Center and Department of Developmental Center staff, legislators and others who keep informed on disability issues through Marty's email updates. You can sign up for these updates at: http://www.cdcan.us/join/join_cdcan.htm.
